Bench Studio was born out of a love of not only working with my hands, but working with leather! I started over 40 years ago, and in recent years decided I just needed to GO FOR IT and share the skills of leathercrafting. It always amazes me the things that can be made with leather even in just 2 hours time.

Elise is a creative entrepreneur, maker, and long-time media personality (radio, TV, and journalist) in Central Oregon. As the founder of Elise Michaels Media, a woman-owned web development and design business, She brings a unique blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and communication to everything she does. In the maker space, she is passionate about demystifying leatherwork and empowering people to create with confidence. From simple cuff bracelets and catchall trays to the ever-popular No-Sew Crossbody Bag, her workshops are all about giving participants the skills and encouragement to craft something beautiful, leathery, and lasting with their own hands.
